AN OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Our Temple is taking on a community service project. We have been helping the Foxboro Regional Charter School with their Holocaust stamp project. We are collecting cancelled stamps for this school.
They hope to collect 11,000,000 stamps to represent all the victims of the Holocaust. Each stamp that is collected symbolizes one wasted life, "thrown away" as having no value, much the same way as an envelope bearing a cancelled postage stamp is tossed in the trash. By February, 2015, the students had collected 5,000,093 stamps.
The students created beautiful stamp collages as the project progresses. They have completed five collages of the eighteen proposed. We will accept stamps at every board meeting and program.
We are currently collecting stamps for veterans to help with their rehabilitation therapy.
Please cut them out of the envelopes and place them in the donation box in the foyer. If you have questions, please email at inquiries@tbsbraintree.com.
Donating in remembrance or celebration of someone or an event is an important part of Jewish life. If you would like to give a donation to the Temple, please download the Donation Form.
